We’ve each been there, discouraged, by ourself, entertaining thoughts, that the enemy has whispered to us. We feel defeated, embarrassed, shame.
Often we need a transparent conversation to speak and hear truth from what God says about who we are. We need to recognize that we are children of God who have been given a description of grace and character that follows to after Him. We are not weak, but equipped, though there are days where we feel defeated we need to return to the description he gave us.

Are the many things that you could have as part of your parent tool kit, community is both important and often underrated. We carry several hats of responsibilities, it can often feel as though once you do have that moment of pause after the dishes are done, the kids are in bed, that all you wanna do is put your feet on the couch and sleep. Believe me I get it. Friendship can seem as though it’s a luxury, something afforded by only those who have zero responsibility. Yet God gave us the gift of companionship, to share a life with someone else, to be encouraged and challenged in a way that he purposed. Below, I provide verses that can encourage, but also two major characters in the Bible, who also experienced loneliness and sought God‘s refuge. Moses: felt overwhelmed leading the Israelites and sought God’s guidance (Exodus 33:12-14). Emphasize how he found strength in his relationship with God. Elijah: experienced isolated after a significant victory (1 Kings 19:1-4). God met him in his solitude, providing nourishment and purpose Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Discuss how parents can turn to God as a source of strength during difficult times. Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” God can transform feelings of isolation into renewed energy and purpose.

We have welcome to the new year, all the decorations are put away, the celebrations have quieted. Many people make new year goals with an expectation that it promises and year that is full of amazing memories, promotion, and expectation of all good things.
How easy is it to lose sight of what God is doing when it’s not going according to the plan that we have outlined. And how much do we limit what God can do when we are only fixated on our equivalent of what “good “means?
What if an effort to grow closer in His character we need to simply learn to identify and discriminate between His voice and the enemy’s. In doing so, by learning to discriminate the enemies voice, we can learn to take steps to ignore his voice & proactively call out the enemies lies.
What if this year instead of mastering and accomplishing everything on your goal list, you learn to discriminate between the Lord‘s voice and the enemies, and you act on them as a warrior? You no longer listen to what the enemy says for you and your family, and instead, you pray into them With a fierceness that God intended?
In this podcast, I share with transparency, my own journey, along with strategies and prayer to equip you for this coming year.
The following verses will serve as a place for encouragement and promise:
Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Romans 8:28 (NIV): “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
1 Peter 1:6-7 (NIV): “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold—may result in praise when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
Isaiah 43:2 (NIV): “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

It’s a new year, just as God met up with Noah and his family to direct them with a plan, He also walked alongside them, knowing that their community would ridicule them, there would be doubt and discouragement through their journey. God is doing a new thing, He is working in us to strength and develop perseverance.

New Year, Renewed Spirit

Saturday Dec 28, 2024

Saturday Dec 28, 2024

It’s the end of the year, it’s an opportunity to reflect on the past year and look forward to the coming year. In this podcast, I challenge you to look at the past year, each month to identify not just that which stands out, but to allow yourself to notate the moments, God showed up, the prayers that were answered, the experience of obeying and not obey, and what you could’ve done better.
Isaiah 43:19 - “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” God is doing a new thing in you, but sometimes when doing a new thing, it isn’t comfortable so change the perspective from expecting that a good year means only good experiences rather that in order to change to be more Christlike, we are growing in our desire to be obedient in our character like him.
